Due to the higher potential for errors, approximately 1% of mail-in ballots are rejected every election for avoidable reasons. In 2020, that could’ve meant millions of votes going uncounted – a number that disproportionally represents people of color and younger, first time voters.
How could we get people to pay more attention to the reasons their ballot gets rejected? How could we warn people not to let their vote go to shit?
Enter Gone2Shit Toilet Paper – a new (fake) brand we “made” with 100% recycled paper from America’s rejected ballots.
WE EDUCATED AS WE ADVERTISED.
This public service announcement disguised as an infomercial was hosted on Gone2Shit.org, where visitors could learn more about their state’s rules and regulations for mail-in voting. The shorter social videos were posted across Gone2Shit’s social channels to spread awareness about ballot rejection.
